This year-long academy meets twice a month on weekends providing coursework focused on the school year. Starting with how to be prepared before day one, we offer timely sessions to help you stay ahead of problems, be ready for challenges, and provide guidance on navigating the complex world of special education. After covering the basics, this academy helps learn how to interpret and write Individualized Education Plans (IEP), running IEPs, as well as other knowledge and strategies to help you become a highly successful teacher.
Along with the weekend sessions, you also participate in small groups with mentors who have been successful as international teachers coming to teach special education in the United States.
General Education Teacher Academy
Similar to the special education academy, this is a year-long academy that meets twice a month. Starting with how to be prepared before day one and we offer timely sessions to help you stay ahead of problems. This academy focuses on elementary and single subject teachers in general education.
Along with the weekend sessions, you also participate in small groups with mentors who have been successful as international teachers coming to teach elementary, middle, and high school in the United States.
